"A life and serious illness policy was set up for a client, as part of the process, our chosen insurer for this case provided the option of half price health screening, this picked up a potential problem and further testing confirmed that the client had early stage prostate cancer. If the client had not attended this health screening – how long would it have taken to detect his cancer? Could it have been too late for treatment? When the claim for prostate cancer was made, he received a payment of 50% of his Serious Illness Cover amount. This payment was based on the severity of his illness and the impact it had on his lifestyle.
